In My Dreams (06/09/2015)

In my dreams, I see you wherever I go
Always by my side, no matter the time
You laugh and I laugh too
You smile and I’m feeling fine
Even when I can’t see you
I can feel you by my side
Whenever my thoughts get too much
You make them all run and hide
I can love you with the strength of a river
With the gentleness of a summer sigh
I may not be able to give you everything
But in our dreams we can fly
I can give you a love that burns like good whiskey
A love that shines like a shooting star
And when we want to disappear
We can just lie side by side as we are
Even miles apart as it may be
We can imagine the other next to us
Down some backwoods gravel road
Where no one can make a fuss
Don’t break the silence that shouts
Some other time we can stop and chat
Baby, you don’t need to say a word
Please, just let me love you like that

I Do Believe (06/10/2015)

Round and round in my head these words are spinning around.
Lyrics and thoughts and dreams spin me into the ground.
When the stress piles up higher, a crashing crescendo inside,
I can't seem to find the words to say so instead I just hide.
Who should I turn to when it's all just too much to bear?
All of those friends who swore they'd always be there?
Hiding pieces of me because others wouldn't understand
Stuck here on the ground when I wish I was flying like Pan.
I'm glad for the friends that I still have, after it all
But I suck at asking for help when I'm trying not to fall,
Everyone has their own lives, with stress and problems and such
No one wants to feel like a bother or used like a crutch.
Catch that falling star; hold it carefully as you make a lasting plea,
Whisper all of your sweet nothings and then set it free.
